ONE FOR THE POT - piss take - POACHING

In One for the Pot we take a light hearted look at some of the old poaching methods used to secure Game for the pot. Jim takes on the the guise of Old Jeremiah Dangle - Country Yokel and Poacher. We set a few snares up on the moor, then go bushing with the Dogs - a Terrier, Lurcher and a Pointer. The dogs catch a few rabbits and push a few into the snares.
Theres a bit of lamping - a young pup finds that too many rabbits add to the confusion and misses most but its all good sport. The Waterloo Cup 2005 - How many boys would like to run their dogs there? - we film two that actually did!!! We take a lighthearted look at a bender snare - more suited to survival than filling the pot - poor lad? Then at a Game Fair we sample smoked haddock and squirrel pitta.
Old Jeremiah is not called the Piss Take Poacher for nothing - just watch the bushing sketch where we go fishing with ferrets and later we join Ronnie Crow for a look at some sporting bygones and interesting curios. Then armed with a Black Widow catapult, Jeremiah lays in ambush for hares - this is an all action sketch. Throughout the film, as well a enjoying good sport, we make light of some of the old poaching methods - but has Jeremiah lost the plot? After the ratting sketch what did he do with the Rat - did he cook it and who ate it? Anyone coming round for dinner? What will he be up to next?
